Program Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) Universitas Mulawarman (Unmul) adalah program tanpa gelar yang dikelola oleh UPT. Layanan Internasional (LI) Unmul. Perogram ini dibuka sejak tahun 2007 bekerjasama dengan Biro Perencanaan dan Kerjasama Luar Negeri, BPKLN), Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemdikbud) Republik Indonesia

The Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers Program or Program Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) of Universitas Mulawarman (Unmul) is a non-degree program managed by the International Affair and Excellent Program of Unmul. This program has been established in 2007, in collaboration with the Bureau of Planning and Foreign Cooperation (Biro Perencanaan dan Kerjasama Luar Negeri, BPKLN), Ministry of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Republic.

Standar kompetensi lulusan yang dikeluarkan oleh Kemdikbud (Permendikbud No. 27 Tahun 2007) digunakan sebagai referensi kurikulum Program BIPA Unmul. Kurikulum ini mengacu pada CEFR dan Uji Kemahiran Bahasa Indonesia (UKBI). Program BIPA Unmul terdiri atas 3 level, yaitu level A (A1 dan A2 / BIPA 1 – 2), level B (B1 dan B2 / BIPA 3 – 4) dan level C (C1 dan C2 / BIPA 5 – 7). Setiap level setara dengan 249 jam pembelajaran. Program BIPA Unmul menggunakan konsep pembelajaran terbimbing, terstruktur dan mandiri dengan mengintergrasikan tata bahasa ke dalam 4 kemahiran bahasa; membaca, menulis, berbicara dan menyimak.

Graduate competency standards that issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Permendikbud No. 27 of 2007) are used as a reference for the Program of BIPA-Unmul‘s curriculum. This curriculum refers to the CEFR and Indonesian Language Proficiency Test (Uji Kemahiran Bahasa Indonesia, UKBI). The Program BIPA-Unmul consists of 3 (three) levels, namely level A (A1 and A2 / BIPA 1 – 2), level B (B1 and B2 / BIPA 3 – 4), and level C (C1 and C2 / BIPA 5 – 7). Each level is equivalent to 240 hours of learning. The Program BIPA Unmul uses the concept of guided, structured and independent learning by integrating grammar into the four language skills; reading, writing, speaking and listening.
